Saaremaa Laevakompanii sold MS Ofelia

18 June 2012 Saaremaa Laevakompanii signed a sales agreement of ferry Ofelia.

Mr Tõnis Rihvk said that many different parties over the world have been interested in MS Ofelia. "She is a good and reliable ferry, but here on Väinamere have been made some big changes like new modern ferries and port systems. We thank her for her long service and allow her to sail on new seas and meet new challenges."

MS Ofelia mostly operated on Rohuküla-Heltermaa line between the mainland of Estonia and island Hiiumaa. Her last trip on Väinamere was in November 2011.

MS Ofelia was built in 1968 in Germany, Krögerwerft shipyard. She takes on board 400 passengers and 110 cars. She is 74,4 m long and 16,8 m wide, draught is 3,80 m, speed 14,5 knots. MS Ofelia has been in Saaremaa Laevakompanii´s fleet since 1998.
